Karnataka is where Bangalore is. For the world outside, I put it that way, because Bangalore now is known all over the world. Before becoming this infamous city of traffic snarls, much before it became the IT capital of India, Bangalore was a quaint city, industrial yet laid back. Growing up central Bangalore in the 70s meant empty “main” roads threatened only by a stream of “speeding” HAL and ITI buses at about the time we got out of school — we had to be careful of them — and, politically, Devaraj Urs as chief minister.
So that’s anecdotal and political. This page is about that.
